Abstrak

Smoking is a major risk factor for death worldwide. Data shows that 8 million people die each year from tobacco, with 67% of adult men in Indonesia being smokers. This community service activity aimed to educate students at Universitas Nahdlatul Wathan Mataram, about the negative impacts of smoking on their health and that of their families. The method used was an interactive counseling session via Zoom involving six students. Educational materials covered the dangers of smoking and vaping, short-term and long-term impacts, risks to secondhand smoke, and strategies for quitting. The activity resulted in a better understanding of the risks of smoking for both individuals and secondhand smokers, as well as increased motivation to adopt a healthy lifestyle. This activity contributes to efforts to improve public health through targeted prevention education.
